Endwave Receives Gold Award for Manufacturing Innovation

Company Honored for Early Adopter Role in RFID-Based Machine-to-Machine Communications

SAN JOSE, CA – June 27, 2008 – Endwave Corporation (Nasdaq: ENWV), a leading provider of high-frequency RF modules for telecommunications networks, defense electronics and homeland security systems, today announced the receipt of the “M2M Value Chain Award” from M2M magazine. Endwave’s Gold award earned top honors at the fourth annual M2M United Conference in Wheeling, IL. M2M United is a unique industry event that promotes the development, awareness, and business value of machine-to-machine technology and the industry that surrounds it.

“M2M magazine’s Value Chain Awards pay tribute to the outstanding implementation that are happening across the globe,” said Peggy Smedley, editorial director of M2M. “Endwave and the other 2008 winners have found leading-edge ways to enhance and improve their businesses by using machine-to-machine technology. Endwave’s success in this area stands as a snapshot of the innovation occurring in the world of M2M.”

“We are honored to have received this recognition from M2M magazine,” said John Mikulsky, Chief Operating Officer of Endwave. “This is our second award of this type in the past month, thanks to our early adopter role in RFID-based manufacturing systems.”

Earlier this year, Endwave implemented a wireless RFID-based lot tracking system from Omnitrol Networks on their factory floor in Diamond Springs, CA. This system enhances core manufacturing processes through continuous shop floor visibility of all work-in-process (WIP) components. Because Endwave products are components of mission critical systems, they must be carefully tracked throughout the manufacturing process. Furthermore, key defense primes and the Department of Defense are starting to request real-time visibility on order status to improve their own lean manufacturing initiatives. This new RFID system significantly increases Endwave’s ability to meet these needs.

Omnitrol Networks Named a "Cool Vendor" in Manufacturing by Leading Industry Analyst Firm

Mountain View, CA – (June 12, 2008) – Omnitrol Networks, a leading provider of converged service-oriented application network solutions for the manufacturing industry, today announced that it has been designated by Gartner Research as a “Cool Vendor” for Manufacturing.1 The Omnitrol Networks’ Work-In-Process tracking application software provides connectivity, real-time operational visibility and workflow management on the shop floor for business leaders and manufacturing plant managers.

According to the report, “Manufacturers with operations that include processes that are not fully automated should consider a combination of hardware and software solutions to provide end-to-end process integration.” Moreover, “Manufacturers have traditionally been receptive to using small vendors that bring innovation and leading-edge functionality, particularly at the plant level.”

Omnitrol Networks’ WIP solution addresses a variety of problems on the manufacturing shop floor, many of which have arisen due to process complexities and outsourcing. These problems lead directly to delays and difficulties in communication between customers and suppliers. In order to counter these difficulties, Omnitrol Networks developed its solution to provide a sensor-based network infrastructure with support for RFID (passive, active, UWB), PLC, and WiFi devices aimed at the shop floor and built-in work-in-process (WIP) tracking application software, all integrated in a single network appliance.

“Our focus is to provide an innovative approach to easy shop-floor tracking so management can monitor each product, as well as to facilitate communication for expectations and progress between the customer and the supplier based on EPC Global standards,” commented David Orain, Vice President of Marketing at Omnitrol Networks. “We’re proud to be evaluated by a prestigious analyst firm like Gartner Research for our efforts in innovation.”

Endwave Receives Award for Manufacturing Innovation
Company to Receive the “Progressive Manufacturing Award” From Managing Automation Magazine

SAN JOSE, CA – June 11, 2008 – Endwave Corporation (Nasdaq: ENWV), a leading provider of high-frequency RF modules for telecommunications networks, defense electronics and homeland security systems, today announced the receipt of the “Progressive Manufacturing Award” from Managing Automation magazine. The Managing Automation awards program recognizes manufacturers that are being progressive in their businesses, in the management of their operations and in their use of advanced technologies. This award will be presented to Endwave at the Progressive Manufacturing Conference in Las Vegas on June 12, 2008.

Earlier this year, Endwave implemented a wireless RFID-based lot tracking system from Omnitrol Networks on their factory floor in Diamond Springs, CA. This system enhances core manufacturing processes through continuous shop floor visibility of all work-in-process (WIP) components.

Endwave’s Defense and Security business unit is a supplier to both the defense electronics and homeland security industries. Because these components of mission critical systems are essential to safety and success, they are carefully tracked throughout the assembly process. Furthermore, key defense primes and the Department of Defense are starting to request real-time visibility on order status to improve their own lean manufacturing initiatives. This new RFID system significantly increases Endwave’s ability to meet these needs.

The benefits from the new systems are expected in the following areas:

- Improved WIP Tracking: In a typical production environment, production personnel spend time manually tracking work orders and their status on the factory floor. This process is time consuming and prone to human error. With automated RFID tracking, shop floor monitoring is more efficient, timely and less error prone.

Avoiding Unnecessary Delivery Delays: The system includes automatically generated “delay alerts” that are sent to manufacturing personnel if a lot does not move to the next work cell within a prescribed time period. This allows problems to be addressed before they cause delays in the overall manufacturing flow.

“We are extremely proud to have received this recognition from Managing Automation,” said John Mikulsky, Chief Operating Officer of Endwave. “At Endwave, we are constantly challenging ourselves to find novel ways to improve our operations. We see the implementation of cutting-edge RFID tracking systems on the manufacturing floor as another example of Endwave’s ability to apply the latest technology in real-world solutions that enhance our ability to serve our customers and improve our operating efficiency. Also, I’d like to compliment Omnitrol for their excellent support in this endeavor.”
