Management Team

The Omnitrol management team brings tremendous entrepreneurial experience and success within the high-tech community. Our team has repeatedly developed visionary products and solutions in the delivery of next-generation infrastructures and enhanced consumer and enterprise services. The team brings extensive experience with real-time distributed event driven systems, VoIP switching systems, supply-chain business processes and intelligent network services and solutions.

Mr. Saksena, is a successful serial entrepreneur and investor in the telecom and enterprise software markets. With over 23 years of experience as both a technical and business executive he has led some of the largest global deployments in advanced intelligent networks and distributed real-time database systems. He has successfully led cross-functional multi-national teams across the globe in sales & marketing, engineering, QA, contact center and BPO support. Prior to founding Omnitrol Networks, Raj was a pioneer in the evolution of the VoIP unified network and broadband services infrastructure to the home.

Prior to Omnitrol, Raj was the President of Suntech Data Systems where he led the global business operations for BPO and contact center services for manufacturing, healthcare and insurance verticals. Suntech was acquired by Zensar Technologies (BSE:Zensar). Prior to Suntech, Raj was the President & CEO of Neovin Networks, a company that was on the cutting edge in the delivery of voice-activated mid-call services for cellular phone networks.

Mr. Saksena was previously the CTO and Executive Vice President of Business Development at Empowertel which pioneered the delivery of an integrated telecom VoIP intelligent switch which was awarded "Best of Show" at Networld + Interop and "Product of the Year" by Communications Solutions. He also pioneered the development of the MediaXpress system-on-a-chip which supported the industry’s highest density VoIP switching fabric at the lowest latency for the delivery of a VoIP unified network. Empowertel was acquired by UT Starcom (NASDAQ:UTSI) and IP Unity.

Prior to Empowertel, Raj was the Vice President of Business Development at Lara Technology that delivered high speed memories for the Internet router market. Lara was acquired by Cypress Semiconductor (NASDAQ:CY). Prior to Empowertel, Raj managed M&A and business strategy for Enterprise Networks at Nortel, where he also led the Intelligent Networks and next-gen service provisioning products. Prior to Nortel he was instrumental in the delivery of real-time billing and rating system for Cantel mobile subscribers. Mr. Saksena has also held senior management and technical roles at Verizon, AT&T Bell Labs and Teletrak.

Mr. Saksena has a B.S./B.E. Electrical Engineering (Hons) and Computer Science from the City College of New York and New York University. As an industry visionary, Raj has chaired and presented at many leading industry conferences, been published world-wide and interviewed on multiple TV broadcasts.

Mr. Cheng is responsible for overseeing Omnitrol's finance, accounting and investor relations activities as well as helping develop the company's strategy and operations. Howard brings over 12 years of technology investment banking and finance experience to Omnitrol. He has been involved in over 50 completed mergers & acquisitions and investment transactions with aggregate value of over $40 billion. Most recently, Howard was a senior investment banker at Deutsche Bank where he helped lead and execute transactions for companies in the software, communications equipment, Internet and other technology sectors. He has also worked closely with many leading private equity and venture capital firms on investment opportunities.

Prior to Deutsche Bank, Mr. Cheng was a key member of the investment banking teams at Robertson Stephens and GCA Savvian. Howard began his career at Procter & Gamble where he was involved in manufacturing initiatives to improve tracking of production, costs and quality.

Howard received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. degree in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Mr. Ireland has always been a fast track entrepreneur and brings extensive experience in the design and architecture of real-time distributed systems with rapid services creation architectures. Prior to joining Omnitrol Networks, Joe was responsible for the delivery of a VoIP PBX system at MKC Networks. Prior to MKC, he was one of the founders of EmpowerTel Networks (Canada) where he led the architecture and was instrumental in the delivery of a carrier-grade VoIP Class 5 softswitch and Media Gateway. He led the development of the SLEE and services architecture for both Class 4 and Class 5 VoIP switches.

Joe has gained extensive experience in the development of high-availability architectures, distributed real-time database systems. He brings extensive experience in event-driven multi-thread design, services creation and execution frameworks and real-time queue processing. He has extensive experience in protocol specification and has designed protocol stacks supporting, ISDN, SIP, MGCP, SS7, etc. Joe has also been instrumental in the delivery of Intelligent Network SCP and SMS systems at Nortel Networks. During his tenure at Nortel, he was instrumental in the development of the SuperNode Data Manager which provided complete OAM&P for the DMS switches. He has also worked on a variety of OOAD, UML projects at Pika Technologies, Saraide; Telexis and Bell Sygma to name a few. Joe has a B.S in computer science from Queens University, Kingston, Canada.
