Network Administration Test Engineer - QI113

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, setup, config and execute system test cases to mimic large complex scenarios and customer deployments
  • Collect test requirements, prepare and review test plan with different teams, build and manage large test setups, reports results and refine test methods
  • Work closely with test lead and developer(s) to resolve issues
  • Work closely with support team and customers to recreate and test customer issues
  • Develop and customize LAN, Wireless-LAN, VLAN services for OMNITROL application network platform and sensor network devices
  • Development of test scripts with TCL, PERL or Silk Test and Omnitrol internally developed SDL scripting for automation
  • Manage, setting up and maintaining a verification lab

Requirements:

  • Minimum three (3) years experience with Cisco CLI and network administration
  • Minimum three (3) years with SNMP based network management systems
  • Significant experience in system testing effort mainly in large complex scenarios, customer deployments and solutions
  • Experience in switching, VLAN, STP, AAA, TCP/IP and routing highly desired
  • Experience in 802.11x, WPA, VRRP, firewall/VPN (IPSec, SSL) preferred
  • Experience using various types of test equipment and tools as well as having a very clear understanding of simulating large number of end users
  • Experience writing test plans, detailed test cases, and other formal test documentation
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, and outstanding trouble-shooting ability, and coaching and mentoring skills
  • Ability to apply industry best practices and standards when project requirements are lacking
  • Product verification experience in L2/L3 WAN systems, with a preference on experience with Cisco routers
  • Verification experience with products operational aspects, Network Management, Command Line Interface, performance and capacity testing, stress testing, fault insertion
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced startup environment executing comprehensive testing on an aggressive timeline
  • Experience gathering sufficient details to log reproducible anomalies
  • Certified CCNA or CCIE is a plus
  • The candidate must have an entrepreneurial attitude with high energy, drive, passion, excellent people skills and the reputation for making things happen
  • B.S. Degree in applicable field, preferably Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology
